Every Thursday Maihi comes to Room 7 to teach us about the Maori culture and what they used to play in the 1800s and 1900s. First we did knuckle bones which we think is from the late 1800s. All we had to do was chuck the bones/stones in the air and see if you get any stones on the back of your hand. Then chuck the stones back in the air and catch them again, until you don't catch any more.
Mainly he teaches us about string games. The main thing you can make with the string is; parachute, cup and saucer and two of diamonds. We think that learning about the Maori culture is great because there are loads of different games and drawings we can do.
