On Tuesday 15 May the whole school went to the estuary behind the skate park for cross country.  It was a chilly day but didn't take long to warm up once we started running.  We had to run around part of the estuary, it was a gravel track that went through the native garden.  We had to run two kilometers.  We actually didn't find it too hard.  Everyone was cheering.  We had to dress up in house colours, some people won spot prizes for their outfits.  If you came in the top 5 of your race you got selected for the inter-school cross country at Rabbit Island.  Lexie was one of the people that got to go to Rabbit Island.  Lexie thought the course was a lot harder than our school track because there were hills.  Lexie came 8th in her race and will now represent MSS at the regional cross country, where she will have to compete against students from Nelson.  Lexie is looking forward to the challenge.
